About Us

Arran Theatre and Arts has been in existence since 1989. Its aims, in partnership with other organisations on the island, are to foster the visual, literary and performing arts on Arran, to further opportunities for professionals in the arts, create experiences which raise skills and awareness and improve access at community level, develop opportunities for young people  and encourage new work, both on Arran and beyond through the annual McLellan Poetry Competition and the McLellan Arts Festival. Arran Theatre and Arts Trust is an umbrella organisation for many arts focused organisations on the island; ​ Arran Open Studios Arran Art Trail Arran Arts Resource Arts Forward Arran On Film Music Arran McLellan Arts Festival Wee Mac Arran - children's book festival, and the ​Arran Arts Heritage Trail ​ To read more about each of these organisations see their own tab at the top of our website.  ​ Arran Theatre and Arts Trust was shortlisted for Creative Scotland's Creative Places Award in both 2013 and 2015.
